These are uncropped animated GIFs created from sequences of photographs I've taken repeatedly of the same scene, and from the same vantage point, with an ordinary handheld camera.  In the "averaged" examples, each frame is the average of the designated number of source images.  See griffonagedotcom.wordpress.com for further details, including this explanatory blog post: https://griffonagedotcom.wordpress.com/2016/08/20/averaging-time-lapse-imagery/

French and English texts of all Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville's known writings about phonautography from the 1850s and 1860s. Edition 1.0 was published through FirstSounds.org in December 2009; this is edition 1.1, published with minor revisions in March 2010 (pagination is unaffected). Users are advised to check for the availability of an even more recent edition.
